EXAMS

By the time this is posted, I would have officially been finished with my exams so yay for that, but no yay's for my grammatical errors that you may encounter, so for this i do apologise, even if they do occur, in this one sentence....

Well, I’m currently doing regional exams and to be honest I don’t like them. Exams are hard and even though I understand why they’re hard….up to a certain point. They’re suppose to be a representation of what you either learnt in school in either 5 years or one depending on which level you’re at. What I’m saying is I honestly don’t believe that it’s a true representation of whether you’ve learned anything or not. I believe that we no longer learn in schools. We pass. Most of us don’t study regularly. Studying isn’t taking up a book cause you know you have an exam tomorrow or next week. Studying is the constant going over of topics to ensure that you understand something, what we do I swat. And in the end even though it’s not good for us, we still do it cause we want to pass. No one wants to fail a class, course or year because let’s be honest, in the times that we’re living in, that’s a lot of money. We all want to pass and we’re all big procrastinators so most of us end up swatting and sure it works for us now but ask us a week from the day of the exam and we can’t tell you anything!

            For one of my subjects I had to do a research and one of my questions in the questionnaire’s handed out was if they thought that the regional exams that we are required to sit in order to get into university were a true representation of if we’ve learnt in school or a true representation of how ‘smart’ someone is. More than 50%   said no. I honestly believe that some people are better expressing themselves while talking in order to explain themselves than putting it on paper. Don’t get me wrong though, we all need to know how to put our ideas on paper in a way that makes sense because at one point or another in our life, we’ll probably have to produce a report for a superior but the fact still remains that many don’t feel comfortable in the way that exams are set up.

Also, what happened to those that get really nervous and stressed out during exams and just fail even though they know the material. What of those students? I understand that for my exam, we’re required to do a research or lab reports, depending on the subject throughout the year which our teachers then grade and give us a grade out of 20% which we then enter the examination with so that we have a part of our 100% already.

            I’ve also come to notice that exam time is one of the most drama free time in your life that you will ever. I think part of the reason for this is because no one has the time to stir up anything because no one wants to be a cruff in the future. Everyone wants to be able to go back to their high school reunion and say, see I’m a big-shot and I have this and that. Why is it though that we can’t think like this during the rest of the year? Why is it only at exam time that everyone decides that they’re just not gonna put up with someone else’s bull. We need to try and evaluate or selves some more and realise that this is the time where we’re making important decisions all year round in order to have a future that we want.

            So don’t wait on exam time to study or even New Years to say that you’re gonna make studying a new year’s resolution for you this year. Decide now. If you know what you’ll be studying in the school year to come, make a head start from now, Take your own life into your  hands and try to make your situation better.

READING

I apologise for any errors that you may encounter along your journey of reading....

So, I’ve officially finished the fault in our stars and to be honest I had been putting off reading it for a while. I have a friend that gives me books cause she  has ton loads of them and she gave me this one as well. Now considering that my exams are not yet over but almost are, I decided, why not? It couldn’t hurt that much right? Wrong!!!

I started reading this book on a Friday while I was on my way into Kingston for a national competition and the tears that just wanted to burst while I was sitting in the back of my friend’s dad’s car was just unbelievable!! And I hadn’t even reached chapter 5!!!!! From then I should of known that it could only go downhill from there. But no, I didn’t stop there. After the competition when we came back for a Chem class, we reached back early so we went to his house where I played a couple car racing games and went back to reading the book. Thank the Father above I was alone at the moment cause I just started bawling right then and there and I just couldn’t stop!!!

John Green, what is this that you said you have done to me?!? And now I’m suppose to go watch that movie in the theatres with my friends? I don’t think so. Y’all ain’t ready for me to cry in public (FYI, I’m not a cute crier, I just get uglier and uglier). After watching so many of his react videos and vlogs with his brother, John Green just made me shed some major tears that I can’t even begin to explain. And this is why I’ll probably never understand why people don’t like to read. I think it’s amazing because think of all the major possibilities that run through your head whil reading that one sentence, and then your brain just magically decides to pick one picture and that is now what you have envisioned for that one sentence. It’s amazing and it never ceases to amaze me and I highly doubt it ever really will.

Anyways, long story short, the book is amazingly written even if there were some words that I just did not understand. I’m grateful for people like John Green and all the people that have read his work and people like them because they keep the reading community still alive. It goes to show that not everyone prefers to TV shows or movies to the book. Reading opens up a whole new world that I honestly believe that we should all be privy to. So pick up a book once in a while and read something that you’re not required to read for school cause it’s an amazing world to get lost in and for some people it may just be your escape from the world for a measly few minutes a day.

GOALS

I apologise for any grammatical errors that you may encounter from now....

               So, I have two friends that decided they were going to do summer projects this year and for a while I thought to myself, should i? and at first I wasn’t going to do anything but then I thought of all the possibilities. For those who actually are reading this and don’t know, I play the piano. I’ve been playing for 14 years now and I doubt that I’ll ever really stop. It’s been such a major part of my life for so long that I can’t imagine my life without it.

               I’ve decided that I’m going to relearn all my old exam pieces that I can find and try and learn new ones as well. So that means this summer I’ll  be practising because after this when I go to university there’s no guarantee that I’ll actually find a piano that I’m allowed to play or even find the time to play one. I want to get in as much practise from now so that later on, when I’m finally able to go back around a piano, I won’t be completely and utterly lost.

               So, in stating it once and for all, My summer goal is to learn and relearn as many piano pieces as possible in order to broaden my knowledge and playing skills. Now, to those who actually read this, I know it’s probably been a rough year and for the summer you want to either party or just relax, but what is it going to take you to think of one thing that you love to do and that maybe or maybe not you’re good at and just take an hour or so out of the day to do it. At the end of the summer you can at least say you accomplished something whether or not everyone else around you can see what it means, it’ll at least mean something to you. So think about it. Think of that one thing that comes to your mind that you wanted to accomplish this  year but didn’t have the time to because of the work load that was weighing you down (other than watching lots of movies and finishing TV series). Think about it, and then…..just do it.

I'd like to say Unbelievable but...

So last night while minding my own business my mother calls me. So like a good little girl I came running to her. She told me she wanted to show me a video and to be honest I really wasn't in the mood, but when I saw that it was 6 minutes long, I just kind of started protesting, but she told me that the 6 minutes was worth it(she never watches videos this long without a good reason). So I sat down and watched the Video. What it is is a 12 YEAR OLD GIRL getting beaten by her mother for posting nudes on facebook.

Now a lot of the comments said that the mother was cruel for doing this, personally i don't think so. Why you may ask, because honestly some of the younger generation don't listen and if you talk and talk and talk and they still refuse to listen obviously you need to try a different approach. Now, at the age of 12 if she's posting nudes, what do you think she'll be doing when she's 16 or even 18. Mind you, I'm not a fan of the method of beating children, but from what i'm told there are 4 children in that household with just the mother and she's trying to put food on the table, provide shelter and clothing and even allows you the means by which you can use facebook and you're telling me that you find time to be posting nudes for a man on facebook.

Now you tell me, you don't have book to go and study? Many girls get so wrapped up in boys/men/males and totally forget that there are other things out there. Now don't get me wrong I'm not trying to be that one single bitter person but I'm just saying that remember you're still in school trying to make something of yourself. Don't let yourself be so wrapped up in love that you completely lose touch with friends or even reality. There's a life with that person and without, just try to find the perfect balance with all your relationships.

Back to that video. So this girl is being beaten by her mum and her mum made sure to video it and told her to put it on facebook...Maybe you've had enough of my horrible explanation and you want to see it for yourself well, i'm just gonna post a link below so you can watch it and then you can formulate your own opinion...feel free to share...or not. MY WORLD

I ONCE AGAIN APOLOGISE FOR ANY MISTAKES THAT MAY BE IN THIS POST....NOW ENJOY!!!! :)

I live in a country where if you’re not a lawyer, doctor or have a high paying job then you’re not worthy of some people’s time. Coming from a female’s perspective I completely understand because let’s be honest, no girl wants a broke ass man cause she does not want to be poor. But how about for once we look at it from a different perspective. One day while at church during Sabbath School (yes, I’m SDA), my teacher asked the class a question, well it was directed to the girls. “Would you date/marry a taxi-man?” Now at this point the class went silent and people started thinking. Some answers were flat out no, others had conditions. For example, one person said that it couldn’t be a taxi-man who was running just one taxi and didn’t have his own fleet (i.e. he had other taxis on the road.). Others just didn’t even bother to think about it, while very few said yes…

My thoughts…? Well, I think it all depends but when you come to think of it, or at least from what I’ve seen. Taxi-men aren’t broke so whoever got that notion in their head is seriously mistaken. And I know what you’re gonna say. Some people don’t look poor at home all for the name of looking good in public while they could be starving at home. Sure that could be the case but I’m just going off of what I see and think. For me it all depends on ambition. You have to be working towards something. If you’re a taxi-man and you have one taxi and you figured that will serve you for the rest of your life especially when you’re young then we’ll probably have a problem. But say you want to be a taxi-man for a living or just continue driving cause you love it, then try and expand your horizons. Get someone else to run another taxi in another area and make some more money. I am in no way saying that this will be cheap, but in the end I’m sure it’ll pay off.

Another thing that I look at is, if not a taxi-man then what is it that you want. You have to look at it from different perspectives. I’m not saying that because he wants to get into your pants you should give him a chance because hey, Everyone’s an equal on this earth. NO. I’m not saying to just ‘dash out’. What I’m saying is, if he genuinely likes you give him a chance. Also, at least he’s making an honest living. He’s not a thief or a gunman, he’s not robbing people of money or their belongings. All he’s doing is helping people get to their destinations quickly and hopefully safely.

Now I just hope if I’m ever put in a situation like this, I’ll think this logically because no matter what I say or anyone else, we’re all different and there are certain things that we all look for in a significant other… even if it is money.

Oh one more thing, guys when you hear a girl saying that she wants a man with money, most of the times we’re kidding. Don’t get me wrong, she doesn’t want a broke man either but she’s not only looking for money because personally, it doesn’t matter how much money you have if you lay a hand on me we’re gonna have major problems.

So yea, it seems like I just keep going so I’ll stop now. :D

Butter Crisis

AS PER USUAL, I APOLOGISE FOR ANY GRAMMATICAL ERRORS

I was watching this video called butter crisis and honestly I don’t even know how to feel about it. It’s this man/woman cause I’m not even sure which one, from Norway I think complaining. Apparently they don’t have butter and Americans are laughing at them. -_- um man/woman try again please.

Ok so they’re laughing at you fine but if you ask me you just kind of embarrassed yourself on the internet cause I could barely understand what you were saying. Your English is so detached that I doubt any of them will even be listening to your message. It probably would have been Bette if you just typed the message in a blog post or Facebook message or something like that.

But now that I think of it maybe it wasn’t a real or serious video. Maybe she was just joking around. Yea that has to be it… what language do Norwegians speak anyways. I just kind of thought it was English, I guess not. The long and short of the matter is that Americans are making fun of them not having butter(even though this video is from like two years ago) and she/he doesn’t like it.
